Zonal Manager

Save the Children – Zonal Manager – South West (Blantyre Field Office) The position is available for an initial period of two years, renewable subject to performance and availability of funding. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party, the Zonal Manager will lead the zonal operations and oversee project implementation in all districts targeted by the project in that zone.
The Zonal Manager provides programmatic and managerial leadership to SSDI-Services staff based at the zonal and district levels and is primarily responsible for the development, management and monitoring of implementation plans at the zonal level, guided and supported by the central technical team for the program at the national level. Applicants should have Masters Degree in a health related field with at least eight years experience in public health programs, including 3-5 years in a managerial role, demonstrated skills in the development of project workplans, budget and management, good understanding of health systems, including demonstrated experience in addressing community, facility and district-level challenges, demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful training, capacity building, mentoring and supervisory systems and tools, demonstrated skills in managing teams and finances, an ability to plan and co-ordinate with a variety of partners and stakeholders, including national level managers, donors, technical assistance organisation, NGOs and community based organisations, excellent advocacy and communication skills, excellent report writing skills, and demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Nutrition Co-ordinator (Lilongwe) – available for initial period of 2 years subject to performance and availability of funding Applis should have a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition or a degree with a focus on Health plus a minimum of 5 yrs experience with government or ING/NGO.
